We all feel that at some point in our lives and trust me, having that feeling, that kind of realization in your heart, is also a great blessing. It is like a call from Almighty Allah to wake you up and drive your attention and focus back to the basics of who we are and what we have been sent for into this world.

For all the people who have every felt that way, there is this absolute way out for them- the ultimate solution for all their problems and fears and that is Surah Yaseen. Yes, Surah Yaseen from Quran is literally a gift for those who believe. The recitation of Surah Yaseen has innumerable Fazaayel (benefits/virtues) in both the worlds.

We all know the rewards that have been promised for the recitation of Holy Quran. The one who recites Quran Pak gets 10 virtues against each letter recited. However, among the Holy Quran, there are some Surahs (chapters) that have been classified as superior than others and the recitation of these Surah has far more benefits than the rest of the Quran. Among these is Surah Yaseen. It is said that those who recite Surah Yaseen at the beginning of the day will have a blessed day and all their worldly affairs and worries will be taken care of by Allah Himself. Similarly, those who recite it at night before bed will wake up the next morning as he or she has never committed any sin i.e. all of the sins will be forgiven upon the recitation of Surah Yaseen before going to bed. This confirms from the following Hadees of Hazrat Muhammad SAW.

“Whoever recited Surah Yaseen during the night seeking the approval of Allah, Allah would forgive him.” Ibn Hibban, Darimi 3283 / A, Abu Yala, Tabarani, and Mardawaih.

The recitation of Surah Yaseen is also recommended for the peace of heart, for cure against illnesses and for all kinds of your worries. It also abolishes the fears from your heart and keeps the reciters safe from all kinds of evils. Surah Yaseen is regarded as most recited Surah of Holy Quran. Muslims all over the world recite Surah Yaseen and memorize it with all the faith, respect and belief in their hearts that they will be rewarded for reciting and memorizing it. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa SAW has also verified the prestige of Surah Yaseen among other Surahs. We come to know of the rank of Surah Yaseen and the benefits of it from several sayings of the Holy Prophet SAW (i.e. Ahadees).

Our beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH said: “Surely everything has a heart, and the heart of the Qur’an is Yaseen, and I would like it to be in the hearts of all believers in my community.” -Tafsir -al- Sabuni, volume: 2

In this saying of Hazrat Muhammad SAW, he (SAW) has himself expressed his desire that every Muslim memorize Surah Yaseen. That is how important this Surah is and those who will memorize it for the love of the Prophet and to fulfill his desire will be rewarded more than any of us can ever imagine. Moreover, relating Surah Yaseen as the heart of Quran also signals towards its significance. Since heart is the most vital organ of human body that works to supply blood to keep all other organs living, healthy and working. Same is the rank and function of Surah Yaseen. It is the heart of Quran and of our faiths.

Before we end this discussion on Surah Yaseen, let us clarify a very important point. In order to gain all these benefits from Surah Yaseen, the one thing that is essentially needed is the purity of intention and firm faith in the blessing of Allah Almighty. Whenever we recite Surah Yaseen, it should only be done for the sake of Allah Almighty and with the firm belief that the rewards that have been promised against it shall be granted in any case. Those who get impatient are the ones who lack faith in His powers. Make sure not to become one of them. Keep reciting and keep us in your prayers.

Halal - Not just the preferred way, but the only way!

Ever wondered why human beings have been regarded as Ashraf-ul-Mukhlooqat (the most superior among all creations)? This is because God gave only the humans the ability to be able to choose between right and wrong i.e. Halal (right or what is allowed) and Haram (Wrong or what is strictly forbidden in the context of Islamic Shariah). Allah Almighty created humans and this universe. He has thoughtfully devised the right ways and the wrong ways i.e. Halal ways of doing things and Haram ways as well, and then HE almighty gave the knowledge to humans to choose between the two. It is now upon us to utilize this knowledge and be able to differentiate the Halal from Haram and choose Halal over the other.

When Allah sent Islam, He sent it as the complete code of conduct. This religion and the Holy Book i.e. Quran, along with the Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad SAW together provide a complete guideline on each and every aspect of our lives and tell us the Halal ways of doing everything. From the time when a child is born to the time when a person dies, there is a complete guideline to take care of each and every thing in a Shariah compliant way.

A lot of people assume that the issue of Halal and Haram difference is only in the food ingredients, which is not true. In every practice of your daily routine life, you can opt for the Halal ways, or the preferred ways, and avoid the Haram ones, or the least preferred ones. For instance, business dealings have the defined confines of Halal and Haram. The practices in Banking and economics have Halal and Haram differences. Even the minutest of changes in practice can turn things from Halal to Haram and vice versa. For instance, a slaughtered animal will be Halal to be consumed, but a dead animal will not be. While some animals are Halal to be consumed, others are strictly forbidden. Similarly, a loan that does not charge interest is Halal, but the one that has interest on it is Haram. A man and a woman living together will be Haram but it will be Halal if the two have been tied together in the relation of Nikkah (marriage), which is apparently nothing but just a couple of words uttered in the acceptance of each other. Due to such minute differences and the depth of understanding into the matter, it is mandatory for all Muslims to gain this basic knowledge to understand the difference between these bifocal ways of doing things. Most importantly, the sources of earning need to be Halal in order for your entire lifestyle and whatever you eat to be Halal.

“This day are (all) good things made lawful for you. The food of those who have received the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. And so are the virtuous women of the believers and the virtuous women of those who received the Scripture before you (lawful for you) when ye give them their marriage portions and liven with them in honour, not in fornication, nor taking them as secret concubines. Whoso denieth the faith, his work is vain and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter” (5:5).

A lot of certification bodies now exist to certify the food items and certain other products as Halal. Since there is an increasing awareness on the topic, people are now more concerned about the Shariah status of whatever they consume, buy, earn or spend at. These certification bodies check out the ingredients used in the food items, the process that has been used in the manufacturing and certain other traits before declaring the item as Halal. Similarly, the banking bodies also have the Shariah compliance departments now to make the banking practices Halal and make them free of interest and mark-ups.

Allah Almighty has promised several great virtues and rewards for the ones who take care of the difference between Halal and Haram and prefer Halal for themselves. Choosing Halal is the source of purification of your earning, of your diet, your faith and your soul. It brings Barakah is your earning and in your Rizq (food supply).

“O Messengers, eat from the pure foods and work righteousness” (Holy Quran 23:51)

So Halal is not just what you eat, Halal is not just what you earn. Halal is a complete lifestyle. It is a complete code of conduct. It is a completely separate way from Haram. Once you decide to choose the Halal path, everything that comes in your way should be chosen to be done in Halal way.

No matter how hard your situation is, this article is going to help you get back to track. With your strong will, nothing is impossible. If you refuse to surrender, neither anybody nor any situation can make you feel worthless or disappointed.

It might be difficult in start to practice and implement these techniques, but with diligence effort nothing is impossible.

Beautify your thinking- think about paradise

It is common to do nothing except thinking, while dealing with depression. Although a common suggestion for depressed people is to do different activities or adopt new hobbies. But they claim that it is difficult to do anything in sad mood. It is difficult to get up and do something constructive and for this you need to push yourself really hard. As in depression, people always prefer to think only. So, instead of pushing yourself you need a pulling force which comes through this technique. It is mentioned in Quran that Allah has selected few people on basis of their thinking about paradise. So, whenever you feel surrounded by tensions, start thinking about your personal beautiful home in paradise. Make a clear image in your mind. It is difficult for some people to think clearly. But try your best. Observe your thoughts clearly. Tell yourself that there will be a time when you will be in paradise in sha Allah. Then you will be independent and free with plenty of resources and endless happiness. This thinking will calm you down. Then think about your personal space in paradise and add details to your mental image. For example, what kind of room you want and what should be in it. How it should be decorated and what kind of resources you need to have there. Think about every little aspect and this will clarify you what you actually want to have in your life. Additionally it will motivate you to struggle more for getting best in this life and life after death. By doing this exercise, you will be using law of attraction and the effect of positive thinking will soon be integrated in your subconscious mind. Eventually it will result in better circumstances as you will notice that when you will be focusing more on what you want instead of what you don’t want. It will help you focus and become solution oriented.

Note: If you have any guilt and you regret about your sins then always remember that if you ask forgiveness from Allah, Allah is best forgiver, and Allah loves to forgive and Allah love those who forgive. If you will forgive then do believe that Allah will forgive you in sha Allah.

Make strong relationship with Allah

Keep asking Allah whatever you want to have in this life and life after death. We must follow our Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in this regard.

One should always pray for both lives as Our Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) taught this dua:

Our Lord! Give us in this world good and in the Hereafter good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. (Surah Al-Baqarah: verse 201)

Don’t forget to ask Allah on daily basis, make a habit to ask Allah whatever you want as soon as a wish appears in your heart.

Even if you need salt, ask Allah for it. And if you need something which seems impossible to you still ask Allah. Always remember that nothing is impossible for Allah and Allah is the ultimate giver. Allah loves those who ask from him alone.

Send gift to your prophet on Daily or weekly basis

Send blessings to our Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) on daily basis through darood shareef. Allah said in Quran:

"Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet [Muhammad (P.B.U.H)] O you who believe! Call for (Heavenly) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation."[ 33. Surah Al-Ahzab : Ayah 56]

Think of angels – Inspire them

Always remember that you are never alone. Allah is always there watching you and His angels are there to write down all of your actions, even if you take a step or blink you eye, they count it and they keep record of it. So do good deeds and imagine that angels are recording your video and they are reporting Allah whatever you are doing. Even if you are alone, do inspiring work.

Zikr – be a mufaridoon (Winner)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The Mufarridun have gone ahead." He was asked, "Who are the Mufarridun?" He (ﷺ) replied, "Those men and women who frequently celebrate the remembrance of Allah."

So keep a tasbeeh or counter and make it a habit to learn and read praise and glory duas or names of Allah. Additionally, do astagfar on daily basis.

Emotion comes from motion

Don’t sit as an idol. As an idol’s mind is devils workshop. Do exercise and keep yourself physically fit. Join a gym or do it at home on daily basis.

Help others

Did you ever wonder from where feeling of self-worth comes from? It always comes from providing value to somebody. The more value you provide to other, the more worthy you feel. It doesn’t mean that you need a lot of money to buy special gifts for others. You can simply start with a smile, which can make other feel good. You can motivate someone for anything. Believe me, the words you will use to motivate someone else equally helps you to get motivated.
